Our Story

Legal Land Title, A Trusted Name Since 1951

Our company did not become a trusted name overnight. It’s a way of life that is rooted deeply within our culture exhibited by our predecessor, Sam Appleby. He demonstrated that trust isn’t given, it is earned, by:

• Performing our due diligence to the best of our ability
• Delivering timely communication
• Helping your neighbor

In 1951, Sam Appleby expanded the legal services provided at his law firm to also include real estate closings. Sam began with helping his fellow WWII veterans with their VA loans, and quickly expanded to helping his neighbors by writing title abstracts and closing real estate transactions.

Sam and his son, David Appleby, continued offering this service to their law firm clients over the years. In 2016, business partners David Appleby and David Healy expanded the Legal Land Title market to help more people with their real estate closings. They now serve clients throughout southwest Missouri at locations in Ozark and Springfield. Legal Land Title is also licensed to do business in the State of Missouri.
